This collaboration aims to develop advanced solutions for wood construction, improving skills and technologies in the field.

Consortia Center, established in 1981, supports businesses through training and development services. It is accredited by the Veneto Region for the areas of compulsory education, continuing education, higher education, guidance and employment services. The Consortia Center has developed significant expertise in training/planning, consortia/network coordination, local supply chain development, and business start-up with a focus on innovation, transition 4.0, sustainability, and business facilitation. It has been running consolidated Vocational Schools for over forty years created together with some multinational companies the “FabLab Belluno,” an open space dedicated to digital fabrication.

Apri Formazione is the training organization of Confprofessioni, a confederation representing Italian freelancers. Its mission is to provide continuing education and training to professionals, keeping them highly competent and competitive in the market. She is particularly interested in the METAWOOD project because of its focus on innovation and sustainability in the construction industry. With his experience in running professional courses on sustainability issues, he helps develop project training programs and promote the dissemination of best practices. With the collaboration of Confprofessioni Veneto and INARSIND Friuli Venezia Giulia, it aims to play a key role in the development of the wood industry in the regions of northeastern Italy.

TheUniversity of Innsbruck brings its expertise in metamaterials and environmental science to the partnership. Through its Wood Construction Department, it has considerable expertise in research and optimization of wood structures and products. The team includes engineers, an architect and a materials scientist, facilitating the development of comprehensive solutions for wood construction. In cooperation with Holzbauteam Tirol and the proHolz Tirol network, the university offers courses on wood engineering and building physics. He recently introduced “IQ Holz Plan,” a university course covering all aspects of wood construction, from design to building statics and technology.

The Free University of Bozen/Bolzano is recognized for its specialized know-how and extensive experience in managing both national and international projects. He coordinated major initiatives such as the BIGWOOD project, funded by Interreg Italy-Austria 2014-2020, highlighting his leadership skills and publishing numerous scientific contributions at conferences and in journals. Equipped with advanced infrastructure such as a mock-up building and a laboratory for acoustic and thermal testing in NoiTech Park, the university plays a crucial role in the METAWOOD project by providing test environments and expertise to develop and validate sustainable solutions in wood construction.

Veneto Green Cluster is an aggregation focused on waste valorization, involving sectors of green business and green production. The latter, committed to reducing the environmental impact of production processes, aims to transition to a circular economy, pursuing a circular flow of resources to conserve and regenerate their value, thus contributing to sustainable development. Acknowledged as a regional innovation network by the Veneto Region, Veneto Green Cluster is committed to three macro goals: researching industrial solutions to maintain the value of materials for as long as possible; developing new technologies to valorize waste; and promoting a low-carbon circular economy.

The Regional Innovative Network “Veneto Gold Forest”, managed by the “Veneto Wood Project, has been enhancing the forest-wood-energy supply chain since 2016, promoting the sustainable use of wood for artisanal, industrial and green building use, as well as the use of woody biomass for energy purposes. It is also dedicated to forest tourism, biodiversity and combating climate change. The network promotes research and innovation and develops training paths. It operates in the SPRING Cluster and collaborates with Conlegno and other entities, promoting a certified and sustainable local wood market. In 2022, it initiated PEFC CoC Legno Veneto certification with CSQA Certifications and filed the “Legno Veneto” trademark to ensure the traceability of wood from Veneto forests.

Confprofessioni Veneto is the regional delegation of Confprofessioni, Italy’s leading organization representing self-employed professionals. The professions sector in Italy represents the third economic-social pole, and this delegation is committed to protecting the general interests of Veneto professionals by facilitating dialogue with institutions and union counterparts in the regional territory. Confprofessioni promotes training initiatives through Fondoprofessioni, offers supplementary health care through Cadiprof and supports bilaterality with E.BI.PRO. INARSIND Friuli Venezia Giulia is the regional section that is a member of the Italian Free Professional Engineers and Architects Union (INARSIND), an organization that represents and protects freelance engineers and architects.
